Burdett Edward Mosby age 84 born in Eldorado, Illinois, recently of Steger, Illinois went to Heaven early Sunday morning on July 5th, 2020 from the complications of a stroke. Eddie is survived by his wife of 66 years Carolyn (Sudie) Evans Mosby, 3 Children Dana spouse of Garry Nail from Crete, Illinois, Gayla spouse of Gerry Maya from Steger, Illinois and Christopher Mosby of La Porte, Indiana. Four brothers Jerry, Wilbur, William, and Clyde Mosby, and 4 sisters Reta Allen Eldorado, Illinois, Linda Arnold, Carrollton, Georgia, Ama Jean Miller of Columbia, South Carolina, and Roxie Ivy-Schaar of Evansville, Indiana. Eddie was the cherished Pepaw of 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Eddie was the third of 11 children born to A. B. and Ama V. Mosby. He spent his childhood learning farming from his dad and spending his days with his brothers and sisters. He then met his sweetheart in 1954. After they eloped, he enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. After his discharge he worked on the farm for a time and then moved to Steger, Illinois. He worked for General Electric for 18 years and retired from Daily South Town in Tinley Park, Illinois where he worked maintenance. Eddie and Sudie have been long time members of Victory Hill Baptist Church, Steger, Illinois. He has been a dedicated member of the church from the groundbreaking, laying the foundation blocks, to the roof, he was always there to lend a hand. Eddie was loved by most everyone he met, he was always willing to help anyone in their time of need, mowing their grass, shoveling snow, a ride to church, or groceries. All those that loved him have their own unique memories with Eddie. His memory lives on in the hearts of those that love him dearly. Eddie (Mo) Pepaw you will be greatly missed. A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 9 2020 from 4-8 p.m. at Victory Hill Baptist Church, 23030 State St. Steger, IL 60475. Another brief viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6305 W.
