Carol Jean Burgans (Evert), age 81, passed from this life into Heaven on February 24th, 2023. One of three children, Carol was born October 2nd, 1941 to Berson and Ruby (Sasak) Evert of Hessville. Carol married C. Edward Burgans in October 1960. They enjoyed a wonderful 61 years of marriage while raising three children. Carol is survived by her loving husband C. Edward Burgans; devoted children Randy (Sandy) Burgans, Chris (Lori) Burgans, Kellie (Jamie) Williamson; beloved sister Terrie Evert Dimpfl; cherished grandchildren: Jonathan Burgans, Derik (Rachel) Burgans, Leyanne (fiance Jeremy Gentner) Burgans, Alyssa Burgans, Aaron (Jillian) Burgans, Kaylie Williamson; step-grandchildren: Tim (Catherine) Tucker, Matt Tucker, Beth Cushing, Hunter (Audrey) Obbagy, John (Brandi) Obbagy, precious great-grandchildren: Azariah and Zenith Burgans, Logan Burgans, Raelyn Obbagy, June Obbagy, Grant and Elowyn Tucker, Jude Tipton, Tucker Cushing, Elijah Cushing, and James Cushing; niece Bethany Dimpfl; nephews Joel Dimpfl and Mark Dimpfl, and many other loved nieces, nephews, sister-in-laws, extended family, and friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents: Berson and Ruby Evert; sister Alice Phares; niece Rhonda Phares; and nephew Walter Phares Jr. A devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, Carol’s children and grandchildren brought her endless joy. She was an avid animal lover but especially loved her two dogs, Libby and Lacie. She was a devout Christian who was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Highland, IN, where she attended faithfully for many years. Carol always had a bright smile and an encouraging word for anyone she met. Her warmth, humor, and compassion will be remembered and cherished by those that knew her well. Carol would want everyone to know she is safe and secure in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 2nd Corinthians 1:3-4. Memorial services will take place at Memory Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Crown Point on March 6th, 2023, officiated by Pastor Michael Poole. Public visitation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with service to follow at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Bible Baptist Church in Highland would be sincerely welcomed.
