Joseph “Joey” John Turcotte, age 72, of Lowell, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Ann Turcotte. He was the beloved son of the late James W. Turcotte and Mary Ann Turcotte. He is survived by his two daughters: Nikole Turcotte and Amanda (Chris) Turcotte; his brother, James (Marilyn) Turcotte; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane & Mark Lefebvre; his niece, Aimee Lennox; and nephews: Nicholas Turcotte, Julian Turcotte, and Matt Lefebvre. Joe grew up in Detroit, Michigan and married his college sweetheart, Mary Ann. They adopted their two children, Nikole and Amanda, and raised them in Fort Wayne, IN. Joe was an avid reader, a history buff, and enjoyed going to the movies, making people laugh, and spending time with his family. He loved the beach and the mountains; family vacations usually included Joe driving his wife, mother-in-law and daughters to the mountains or beach in their family van. He surprised his family with Stoney, their first golden retriever, soon after moving to Fort Wayne. For many years, he drove his daughters to their piano lessons every Saturday morning, afterwards enjoying breakfast at McDonald's. On Sundays, they read the comic strips and he often drew for his daughters. He attended Nikole's track and cross country races and watched Amanda's dance performances. After moving to Northwest Indiana, he retired and enjoyed having more time to visit his daughters in Chicago, making impromptu trips to the beach with his wife, and spending time with friends. He will be remembered as a loving, supportive husband, father, brother and friend who made everyone laugh.
