It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Liliana Francisca Arellano-Sanchez, affectionately known as Lily, who was called to be an angel by God on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at the age of 12. She was born to her loving parents, Mario and Myriam Arellano, in East Chicago, Indiana. Lily leaves behind a family and many friends who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her stepmom, Nicole; her sisters, Marina, Celina, Angelina, and Leilani; and her grandparents Cruz and Antonia Sanchez (Del Real), and Jorge and Miriam DeLeon. She was a beloved niece to Tio Cesar and Tia Alisha Sanchez, Tio Lionel and Tia Mary Ellen, Tio Adrian, Tia Elizabeth, and Tia Esmeralda; and adored by her Godparents, Luz and Gerardo. She also leaves behind a large extended family, including many tias, tios, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply. Preceding her in death were her grandfather Mario Arellano, Sr.; great-grandparents Fortino Arellano (Maria Luisa) and Francisca Del Real, and her great-uncle Rodrigo Del Real, whose memories will live on in our hearts. Lily’s spirit was full of love and joy. She had an incredible passion for life and filled every room she entered with warmth and happiness. She loved to draw, sing, and had a natural talent for both soccer and basketball. She loved cheerleading for her school’s basketball team, and watching the sunsets. She also loved riding her bike and embarking on road trips, always accompanied by her favorite music (particularly Taylor Swift), which made every moment feel like an adventure. Lily’s laughter and kindness will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She touched the lives of so many, and her memory will live on through all those who were blessed to be a part of her life. May God embrace our sweet Lily in His arms and grant her eternal peace. She will always be loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed. Rest in peace, sweet angel. Friends and relatives may visit with family on Thursday, February 13, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Memory Lane Funeral Home 6305 W. Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, IN 46307. A Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. directly at St. Matthias Catholic Church 101 W. Burrell Dr., Crown Point, IN 46307.
