Linda Jonell Wilson, 48, of Schererville, Indiana was called home on July 26, 2017 to be with her Heavenly Father after battling with cancer. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the Lake Hills Baptist Church. Those attending are invited to share their memories of Linda, and join us in celebrating her life. She graduated fourth in her class from Lapeer East Senior High School in 1987 and continued on to receive a B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1991. Linda worked at BP her entire career for more than 25 years where she was most recently the Manager of Environmental Engineering at the Whiting Refinery. Linda was a true leader who empowered others. She was driven, dedicated, and loved the challenges of her career. She had a passion for excellence and truly made a difference. Linda had a brilliant mind, generous heart, and eyes that saw the best in people. Linda enjoyed traveling, cheering on her favorite team University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and spending time with her dogs: Nala, Sasha, and Tucker. Linda loved her family, and made every Christmas extra special for her nieces and nephews. Linda is survived by her mother, Genelle I. Wilson; her brother, Michael G. Wilson; her sister and brother in-law, Lisa and Steven Atwood; and her nieces and nephews: Brittany Hulst, Katie Wilson, Andrew Atwood, Nicholas Atwood, and Abigail Atwood. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Garry F. Wilson. “Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words.
