Sandra (Sandy) Manns age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 21, 2020, in Merrillville, Indiana. Sandy was born in West Hamlin, WV, on February 29, 1952, to Vester and Lorene (Vance) Manns. She graduated from Guyan Valley High School and later, she proudly completed some courses at Calumet College of St. Joseph. Sandy dedicated over 24 years as a production operator at General Mills in South Chicago, IL, and additional years at Cargill Cerestar in Hammond, IN, before her retirement in 2001. Sandy is survived by her two loving daughters and four amazing grandsons: Sabrina Gravely, Frankfort, IN and her sons- Jacob Jones Gravely, Isaac and Tommy Claxton; Kelly (fiance Keith Zaremba) Gravely and her son, John Dosen all of Crown Point, IN; her loving siblings, Odessa Browning, Harts WV; Lester (Sylvia) Manns, West Hamlin, WV; Mary (Don) Cooper, Maryville, TN; Vaughn Manns, Branchland, WV; and Wayne (Bonnie) Manns, West Hamlin, WV; in addition to a bonus baby brother, Luke Manns, Maryville, TN; and special nephew, Rob (Shawnda) Manns, West Hamlin, WV. She was also blessed by many, many other nieces and nephews. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Wright, her beloved brothers Ersel Manns, Arthur Manns, Russell Manns, Raymond Manns, and her loving sister Roberta Fulks. Sandy was an extremely loving and giving woman. She loved giving gifts and would always have them wrapped to hand out to unexpected visitors at Christmas time. If she had a hobby, it was shopping. She could spend hours in a small store and buy something in every color, just because it was “on sale”. Sandy loved music and enjoyed singing and dancing. She had the gift of gab and could talk for hours and hours. She would call you back just to tell you one more thing. Her faith was strong and she believed in the power of prayer. Her love was so immense for her family and friends and she was considered a second mom to many. She will be greatly missed. Private burial will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020, at Memory Lane Memorial Park, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway (US 30), Crown Point, IN 46307.
