August 5, 1980 - May 4, 2022
Daniel Ian Hubbard was a passionate man who loved life, loved his family, and loved His God. He believed in everyone his life touched. He had an unusual balance of tenacity and humor. He could make anyone feel at ease. Born on August 5, 1980, in Hammond, IN, Dan attended Caroline Sibley Elementary of Calumet City, IL, and then moved to Crete, IL, for middle school. He graduated valedictorian of his senior class at Hammond Baptist High School in Schererville, IN. He married his high school sweetheart and together they had many adventures that carried them across two continents. It was his joy to give a decade of his life serving the local Spanish community in the Primera Iglesia Bautista de Hammond, IN. His life touched thousands as opportunities to travel abroad, representing the missions board of First Baptist Church of Hammond, IN, presented themselves. Although he lived and battled cancer for 15 years, he did not let that stop him in any endeavor, and willingly gave himself to pour out seven years of his life to prepare and then launch a missions’ team in Lima, Peru, South America. God blessed the work there and the churches and believers that remain are a testimony to God’s faithfulness. He deeply and completely loved his “fabulous five” children and poured himself into their lives. Dan Hubbard was real. He was transparent about real-life challenges, and he was passionate about the restoration of the lost and the restoration of the Christian who had made wrong choices and struggled in those choices. He believed God has a purpose for each of us and it was his vision that each would live that fully and victoriously. For forty-one years he lived life fully; he laughed often; he loved deeply; he provided generously; he knew intimately, elevated, and taught God’s Word. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents: Ron and Elaine Gibertini and Forrest and Carol Hubbard. He is survived by his cherished wife, Christy, and his five precious children: Timothy, Zachariah, Ivana, Joshua, and Luke. Additionally, His father, David Hubbard, (Wendy); his mother, Gina Gibertini, his brother, Frank Hubbard (Janette), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He moved to Heaven’s shore on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Psalm 37:23-24 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service at 12 p.m. at the Jack Hyles Memorial Auditorium 523 Sibley St. Hammond, Indiana 46320.
