Priscilla Litherland was born and raised in Hammond, IN, to Earl and Alice Timperley. A 1960 graduate of Hammond Tech, Priscilla worked at Goldblatt’s for ten years before starting her family. She married Victor Litherland on September 13, 1969, with Pastor Jack Hyles officiating. Priscilla and Victor would share more than the next 50 years together, raising their family of four. Priscilla is survived by her husband Victor Litherland; her children: Raymond Litherland, Cheryl (Bill) Graham, and Ruth Litherland; her grandchildren: Lynda, Aimee, Cheri, and Julie Graham; her sister Nancy (Robert) Schultze; her nieces and nephews: Jeff Kissee, James (Laura) Schultze, Lynda Schultze, Sarah (Joey) Randolph, Beth Ann Litherland, Stacey Litherland, Richard Holstein, Randy Holstein, Matthew Penick, Jeremy Penick, Justin Harris, and Aaron Harris; her brother-in-law Walker Litherland; her sisters-in-law: Loretta Litherland-Brown, Lucy Holstein, Mary Penick, and Ruth (Garry) Harris; and several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and dear friends, especially from church. She is preceded in death by her parents: Earl and Alice Timperley; her son: David Litherland; her sisters: Earleene (Len) Kissee-Valle and Lois (Haven Douglas) Hendricks; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Carl and Anna Litherland; and her sister-in-law: Beverly Litherland. Priscilla was a woman of faith and all about her family. “Cilla” was a lifelong member of her church, volunteering for many years in the “Beginner 2” children’s church for five-year-olds as a young woman (along with her sister Lois, future mother-in-law Anna Litherland, and sister-in- law, Loretta Litherland-Brown). In her later years, she was a beloved member of Phoster Club and the Thursday soul-winning group for ladies. Priscilla was an eighteen-year-old senior in high school when Pastor Jack Hyles began his 40-year tenure at FBC in 1959. Though the last years of Priscilla’s life were fraught with suffering as her health failed her, she is free and with her Lord now. She loved to share her faith with others. Priscilla was completely devoted to her family and was always there for them. Her love was simple yet profound, deep, vast, and unconditional. Priscilla enjoyed reading, planting her flowers each spring, and always finding small, quiet, thoughtful ways to be of help to others. She was especially fond of a good, old-fashioned “who-done-it” mystery and absolutely adored animals, especially dogs. Priscilla will be so greatly missed by her family and friends and leaves a huge void. Services will be held with visitation at 10:00 AM and service to follow at 11:00 AM. on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Memory Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway, Crown Point, IN 46307. Burial to follow at Memory Lane.
