Antonio “Tony” Albert Arroyo, the son of the late Juan Vincente and Elvira Arroyo, was born on July 09, 1957 in East Chicago. Tony passed away peacefully on March 01, 2026 while surrounded by his loving wife and family. He fought hard until the very end. Tony was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a dear friend to many. Tony worked at Inland Steel for over 25 years. After Inland Steel he got into the real estate business, where he helped many find and sell their homes. He worked hard and built connections wherever he went. Tony was often referred to as the Man on the Move. He was always going somewhere or talking to somebody. Tony did not know what a stranger was. In fact after meeting him you would become his friend. Tony was the type of man that you could count on to be there for you and to show up no matter what. He made sure that every person felt valued, seen, and heard. He would instantly light up any room he walked into and fill it with his laughter. Tony was always smiling. Tony was a very gentle and loving soul. He had a kind spirit and an open heart. He had a way of making everyone be connected together and made sure each person felt as though they belonged. One of his greatest joys was his faith in God. Tony never stopped giving God the praise and the glory no matter what was happening in his own life. Tony was the type of man that you could tell was on fire for God and he was going to share this with anyone he met. Tony was a light in many people’s lives. He left an impact that will forever be carried. Tony was like a star, you may not have always seen him but you knew he was there and he truly glowed. He was a very wise man that many sought advice from. He would never judge you or think less of you but rather would try to give you the tools you needed to help you and then he would feed you, usually with some tamales. “A life that touches others goes on forever” is a quote that perfectly encaptures the legacy he is leaving behind and the example he gave to so many of us. Tony was welcomed into eternal peace with his Lord and Savior and reunited with his father, Juan Vincente Arroyo; his mother, Elvira Arroyo; his brother, John Arroyo; his sister, Sarah Arroyo, and many more friends and family. Tony’s memory and legacy are carried by his loving wife Emilia Arroyo, his children, Anna Frey, Antonio (Christie) Arroyo Jr., and Thomas (Sabrina) Arroyo; his grandchildren Brianna (Alan) Gardner, Sabrina (Thomas) Frey Dopp, Angelo Arroyo, Isabella Arroyo, Wayne Frey, John Arroyo, and Trinity Arroyo; his great-grandchildren Leo and Tobias Gardner; his siblings Anna (Rick) Hon, Gabe (Kathy) Arroyo, Lynn Zajicek, Ruthette Arroyo, and Violette Arroyo; his sister and brother in-laws, many nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends who became family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 05, 2026 from 4:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. and Friday, March 06, 2026 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 06, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. and will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person at Memory Lane Memorial Park and Funeral Home, located at 6305 Lincoln HWY, Crown Point, IN 46307 to celebrate a life well lived.
