In Loving Memory of Steven Nydam June 1, 1963 – October 13, 2025 With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Steve Nydam; Our beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend. Though his time on earth ended far too soon, his life was a shining testimony of faith, love, family, and devotion. Steve is survived by his loving and cherished wife Nanci Nydam, adored father to daughter Stephani (Jake) Nydam Brooks, son Austin (Abby) Nydam, loving uncle to Matthew Crow and Brandon (Lexi) Crow, and dedicated Papa to Jameson Brooks and Brynn Nydam— the pure joys in his life. He prioritized his family and ensured they felt how deeply he loved them. Steve was a beloved and devoted husband, as words cannot articulate the incredibly close bond of love and friendship he and his wife shared for 34 wonderful covenantal married years. Steve was the strength and foundation of their family. Steve was a man of an incredible work ethic and integrity. Steve owned and operated his own collision repair shop and took great pride in his craft— protecting and providing for his family through years of dedication and perseverance. Steve loved his family fiercely, and they spent their time together loving God and each other. The births of their children and grand blessings were highlights of his life. He enjoyed and lived for time spent with his family. Steve often showed his love more through his actions than words. His strength, kindness, selflessness, and protective spirit defined him as the true patriarch of his family. The moments that mattered most to him were time spent being with his family and friends at church, home, the beach, playing pool, riding four wheelers, and going to dirtbike races. Above all, Steve was a devout Christian who loved God deeply and followed Jesus faithfully. He lived out his faith by serving others, giving generously, and walking humbly before the Lord. His life reflected the heart of a servant—steady, selfless, and steadfast in love and faithfulness. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day— and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing.” — 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Steve’s legacy of faith, love, family, and hard work will live on through those who knew and loved him. Though our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice in the promise that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior. He will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered with love and utmost respect. "It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. Part of me went with you, wherever you may roam." Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at Memory Lane Funeral Home 6305 W. Lincoln Hwy, Crown Point, Indiana 46307. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 immediate family only, with Pastor David Santana officiating.
