Wilma Rose Robinson (nee Byrley), age 85, of Gary, Indiana, formerly of Hammond, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 23, 2020. Wilma was born on July 15, 1934 in Lawrenceville, Illinois to William Ernest Byrley and Bertha Marie Byrley (nee Arnold). She is survived by her children: Harvey Robinson of Gary, IN, Betty (Tim) McCurdy of Marion, IA, Freida (Floyd) white of Crown Point, IN, and Fred (Kim) Robinson of Elkhart, IN; her grandchildren: Susan (Gary) Harper of Crown Point, IN, Rachel (Joe) Hardy of Crown Point, IN, Austin (Stacie) McCurdy of Highland, IN, Beth (Aaron) Wolfe of Lowell, IN, Jeremiah (Athanasia) Newton of Brownsburg, IN, Brandon (Rachel) McCurdy of Mokena, IL, Laura Smith of Gary, IN, Lori (Scott) Ritchie of Lebanon, MO, Andy (Nicole) Robinson of Crown Point, IN, Freddy Robinson of Crown Point, IN, Dillon (Kailee) McCurdy of Saginaw, MI, Hayleigh and Ryleigh Robinson of Elkhart, IN, Ananda (Bryant) Byler of Elkhart, IN, and Alex (Gianna) Keim of Osceola, IN. Wilma is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Annemarie Harper (to be married to Derek Coffey on May 16, 2020), Jacob Harper, Kiersten and CJ Hardy, Jealyn, Ethan, Elayna & Brynn McCurdy, AJ, Frank, Jeffrey, Jesse & Timmy Wolfe, Zoe & Michaela Newton, Chole & Avery McCurdy, Skyla, Travis & Kylie Smith, Hallie, Tori & Talan Ritchie, Anden & Brody Robinson, Abel, Hudson & Emersyn Byler, and Anthony Keim. Wilma is survived by her sister, Bettie Wright of Houston, TX; niece-in-law, Peggy Wright of Baytown, TX; nephew, Randy (Cheryl) Wright of Katy, TX; niece, Barbara (Johnny) Pope of Houston, TX; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews by marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Bertha Byrley; her husband, Eugene Fred Robinson; her daughter-in-law, Dianne Robinson; her brothers: William Arnold Byrley and Walter Earnest Byrley; her grandsons: Jeff Robinson, Clinton McCurdy, and Logan Smith; and granddaughters: Tiffany & Lisa Robinson; her brother-in-law, Paul Wright; and nephew, Kenny Wright. Wilma was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana, where she worked in the Beginner Sunday School Department for many years. She was a manager at the Zayre's Department Store in the fabric department for many years, and she loved to crochet. A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Memory Lane Funeral Home, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway (US 30), Crown Point, Indiana.
